How to Flood Your Referral Base

Hands across the worldWhat’s the number one thing every ad tells you is a must for your promos to be seen? Traffic. No brainer, right?

I’m thinking about a major highway and watching the cars bumper to bumper, creeping along. That’s traffic yes?

While the cars on the highway do not want to stop, because they have a specific destination, an off ramp exit they are looking for, so does the traffic to your site.

A check in the cPanel, shows the stats say you have thousands of people pass through on any given day. Of course that also means you were surfing to create traffic. So why didn’t they stop?

Step 1 to filling your referral base:

Keep the traffic flowing. If you don’t surf enough, if you do not promote enough, the traffic slows down, The road in your direction may not be so interesting.

On the highway, billboard signs advertise rest rooms and food. Those signs appear out side all major towns, some along the highway. And you stop. Why?  Bathroom. Food. Pretty obvious needs yes? And those signs scream where the solution to that need can be found.

Step 2 to filling referral bases is …

Provide a need.  Your subject lines, headers, whatever the page being promoted, better scream a hurried need. When the traffic pauses, it should see the hint of a solution.

Not all traffic will want what you have to offer, but if you want the ones who will pause to think it over, it better be well placed, a superb benefit to them, and one more big time tip …

Step 3 to filling referral bases is ..

Make sure the benefit you offer is backed up with a power house punch of what that benefit can do for your visitor. If the benefit is better health, then make sure the power house punch says what it will relieve for your particular prospect.

Now is the time to take a hard look at your promotions. Will they attract a hungry market in need of what you have to offer? And does that offer include beneficial solutions and  support for those benefits by telling the prospect what it will do for them?

The majority of ads only cover the first two steps, need and solution. Very seldom do they offer that final step to a guaranteed sign up – what the product and solution will do for the reader. Include it.

Dare to be different, get that referral!
