Not by how you click, but the pages you submit. The URLs to directory pages, catalogue pages, long sales pages, landing pages that are way too big and stuffed. They either do not load, freeze the computer of the clicker, nor do they have a chance to load. Goodbye conversions.
MIA – where are the splash pages?
So what is missing? Splash pages. Big secret huh? They must be because they are scarcer than hen’s teeth! The ones that are there are old fashioned HTML square boxes thrown together off pre-made backgrounds and images from program applications. Do you really want a ‘seen one seen them all‘ production?
Branding vs. Positioning
It’s not traffic you need, it is a decent splash page for starters. The mix up between branding you vs. positioning you makes for amateur night and all advertisers tying for first place.
When you use company pages and place your image on it, that is not branding you. It is showing the world you are an affiliate of that program and probably a free one. When you have your own domain, and your image and page come from that domain, then you are branding you first and the company second. That you are probably upgraded or at least a serious marketer. Someone to check out and perhaps follow.
Behind the face is a personal history. ALL yours. ALL there for the world to find when they check you out. And because you have that domain, then what they see on that site is positioning you on the web, amongst your competitors and most certainly in the eyes of the traffic you attract.
Respect for the surf timers
Try planning to build your campaigns. Reviews and web sales copy or product reviews should be placed on your web site. The the next step is to create a cool splash page that will drive traffic to that page for you. Alexa will really sit up and take notice of that action.
If you have an autoresponder, and wish to automate the actions of the traffic you send, then creating a squeeze or landing or LCP – Lead Capture Page requiring the traffic to sign up for a free gift, a subscription or some thing of value, then send them to your page, you can do that too. That way you are combining potential sales traffic with list building. Make sure every step and action are all related to the end cause. Keep your traffic hungry and happy.
