You Did What With Your New Sign Up?

Follow up send emailThis new person is all excited. You either start a marketing love affair with them or watch them slide off into the sunset looking for a real person to help them.

You have a name and an email address this new person cared enough to supply when they joined you. So what is your next step?


What is a Follow Up Email?

Two supposes interact here. Did you receive this person via
a Lead Capture Page or did they join you via a splash page?

In the first instance, they will get a welcome mail sent
out by your auto-responder. In the second instance, you have
to create and send one for each new subscriber.

Once you have an autoresponder series set up, you can leave
the welcome mail idea alone as follow up will happen without
any input on your part.

It is the second variable that causes banned members, inactive
members and puts your accountability in the zero range.

Styling follow up emails to engage your new subscriber

Get down and personal right off the start.  If images engaged
the subscriber, then you need to engage them again, but this
time in getting to know you.

Your style ‘talks’ in words to give out a warm feeling that
can reduce a lot of stress. Take full advantage of this
opportunity to bypass formalities.

Hey! Thank You for joining me.

Manners show here. A warm thank you shows them they mean
something to you. There can never be enough thank yous in
a new relationship.

Are you offering a thank you gift for joining you? If so
and this person is not on your list, then get a page set
up where they give you their name and email address again,
(never know when it could be different) that leads to a
page with the link.

Fast Start Structure to Understanding

The company may have a TOS ~ agreement, a Verification
page or other immediate actions a new person must take
in order to activate their account. Make each need a
clear reminder to save your new subscriber grief.

Then follow  it up with a 1. Join  2. promote 3. Advertise
Try simple three steps to immediate action using your program.
They might be too excited, or short on time to search out
these things so get them up front and in their face as kindly
action reminders.

Getting to know them …

What is their major concern working online?  You will have
a web site with content or a nice blog you are developing
that you can refer them to for help?  Thus what ever their
problems, each response is fodder for a new blog post, for
newsletter content or website value content. Lots of ways
to make a must concern for your new person lead to

Signature Files

The life-saver and resource section for your new person
to get comfortable with you. Develop two or three different
ones that focus on what project it is you may be promoting
at the time.

Watch out sending links in emails

Some mail senders will ban you for that. Might turn off your
new subscriber too. Use your sig files to send your new people
on a getting to know you tour of your blog or website.
That is acceptable.

The welcome mail that comes from YOU NOT the company, sets
the stage for the relationship you will have with your new
person. Keep that in mind as well. They ARE a person, a
human being with feelings first and foremost. Thus it will
pay you to meet those feelings head on for a long lasting
